This place takes you to India and I am not at all kidding! My parents visited us from India and I took them to this place and they mentioned that this place serves best kathiyawadi food that they don't even get in our city in India! Now that's huge! Do visit this place and thank me later. True gujjus will love this place. It is a bit crowded in weekends and they do not take prior bookings, it is first come first serve kinda thing. Ambiance is good.
Their unlimited thali is truly a treat, with each item authentically prepared and bursting with rich flavors. While some dishes are a bit oily, it adds to the traditional taste, and I'm not complaining! However, one downside is that they don't take reservations. If you're planning to visit with a large group, be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for a table on weekends. Despite this minor inconvenience, the delicious food and authentic atmosphere make it well worth the wait.
What a treat!!! Remarkable food and service! The unlimited thalis are truly unlimited, you get as much of whatever you want! Even the foods that are not part of the thali are given to you upon asking. That's how they go out of their way to ensure the guests have an amazing experience and a full belly before paying their check! I was a bit hesitant about going here after reading a negative review but my experience was anything but! These folks make you feel like family. Actually, like a family at a wedding (Indian weddings in the 70s and 80s and 90s) where you're served by folks constantly coming around with more warm foods and asking with a smile if you want more rotla or shak or ghee or anything else. Whatever you want is at your table within 2-3 minutes. We were truly impressed with the service and their love of feeding customers until they're absolutely content! They're not hurting for customers but I needed to share our exceptional experience anyway. We went on a weeknight and the place was full. Apparently it's a zoo on weekends.
I was suggested this place by a Gujarati who said it's the most authentic cuisine you can find. I did give in and went here and needless to say, it's been amazing! We did try the kathiyawadi thali and pav bhaji and both were equally amazing. Service was quick and to the point. Give it a try and you'll come out smiling!
If you are craving for some authentic Gujrati/kathiyawadi food, this is the place to go to. It's absic restaurant with minimal decor/ambience. They don't take reservations and it's usually busy on weekends(wait could be from 30-40 mins). Menu have some mini meal/appetizers options and unlimited thalis(Thali is $26+gratuity so its not cheap). There is a tumbler of buttermilk on eqch table to enjoy with the food. We had Gujrati and kathiyawadi thali. Food is a bit oily and less spicy to my liking but overall it's good.
I went here for lunch on a weekend for their unlimited thalis and had a great experience! There was a slight wait to be seated but definitely worth it! The food itself is delicious, but the service and staff I think make the meal. They check in on all the guests frequently, refilling everything that the seems to be emptying. There is a lot of variety in terms of the items that come with the thali. You can't go wrong with any of them, but my personal favorite was the Kathiyawadi Thali. There is also unlimited chaas on the side to enjoy with the meal. Definitely would recommend!
We went on Christmas day and it was packed! It was a 45 mins wait but totally expected - you don't find Kathiyawadi food easily even in NJ. There is a "farsan" (gujarati snacks) store next door where you can shop while you wait. Just amazing food - bajra roti, dal, kadhi, khichdi, besan gatte, black chana, gulab jamun were my fav!! Once you are seated, you get about 50-60 mins, service is prompt so it is enough time to finish your food.
Have been to this restaurant multiple times and always left from here satisfied! They serve the most authentic Gujarati thali in New Jersey! Their Gujarati and Kathiyawadi thali both are a treat to have. Love their Sev tamatar sabzi - it's not at all soggy. Gatte ki sabzi is so amazing - it's so soft and cooked properly. It's so nice to have piping hot bajre ki rotli with ghee. To compliment all these heavy dishes they serve chhas that too unlimited! My mouth is watering as I am writing this review :) The service is usually pretty quick and they kept serving even when the restaurant was about to get closed. They have extended the seating arrangement last year. The wait times are always quite a lot here, but it's worth it! Just have a good appetite before going to this restaurant so you can enjoy all the scrumptious food.
Had heard a lot about this experience and wanted to try it out badly but couldn't do it since it's situated far away from Jersey City. Finally managed to convince my friends for a visit and damn! I was amazed! We ordered both Gujarati and Kathiawadi thali. The Gujarati thali though was a lot on the sweeter side and not a big fan of it but it was worth having for once. The Kathiawadi thali was really worth the price. Be careful of the jug full of buttermilk kept in front of you, it's just to limit your eating capability at their unlimited restaurant. I loved it so much that I managed to eat 4 chapati, 1 rotli, and khaman x3, while trying out all the vegetables from Gujarati and Kathiawadi thali's! My personal favorite was baigan ka bhartha as I had it after a really long time! The staff is really polite with the servers providing us food till we were finishing despite their kitchen closing down. Service provided was top notch! I'm really looking forward to visit this place again!
